The excitement continued tonight when we had our official travel group conference call to discuss the information that was sent to us earlier in the day. Josh, who founded our adoption agency, CCAI, with his wife, Lily lead the call. I was thrilled to hear him in person. Their agency started in 1992, with only Josh & Lily as workers, trying to help one family adopt. Since then, they have placed almost 10, 000 children and have grown the agency to include numerous employees throughout the United States as well as in China. I was amazed to hear how hands on he and Lily still are and the details he knew about each of us and our children. He thanked us all for saving these children and giving them a second chance at life. By adopting an orphan, whose future is dim, we were changing the course of their life. As he spoke, I couldn't help to think of one of my favorite parables.
The Starfish StoryOriginal Story by: Loren Eisley
One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed
a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean.
a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean.
Approaching the boy, he asked, What are you doing?
The youth replied, Throwing starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don't throw them back, they'll die.
Son, the man said, don't you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish? You can't make a difference!
After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish,
and threw it back into the surf. Then, smiling at the man, he said,
I made a difference for that one!

On July 11, 2011, we will make a difference for one little girl and change the course of her life forever!
